GCK announces the inauguration of a new industrial site and the creation of Flex'hy, a hydrogen distribution company
- On Monday 7 November in Lempdes, in the Puy-de-Dôme, the Green Corp Konnection (GCK) group inaugurated its new 2,500 m2 industrial site designed to bring together part of its production and R&D activities.
- This modern and already operational site has 90 employees and brings together the mass production of lithium batteries, the development of prototypes for the heavy vehicle retrofit activity and the preparation of clean energy storage and distribution solutions.

Lempdes, November 07 2022 – GCK, an industrial group created by Guerlain Chicherit and Éric Boudot in 2020 and made up of 9 companies, has just inaugurated its new 2,500 m2 industrial site in Lempdes, on the outskirts of Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme region, thus confirming its ambition to be a major player in the decarbonization of transport
The Lempdes site, which is already operational, enables the group to concentrate in one place the production of lithium batteries, which is an essential part of the group’s long-term strategy, as well as the development of prototypes for the electric and hydrogen retrofit business, which is a crucial solution in the medium term for the emergence of sustainable forms of mobility. It is also on this site that clean energy storage and supply solutions are prepared before being deployed.
This strategic step allows GCK to take a new step and continue its sustained growth since 2020. With 65 employees at the beginning of 2022, the group now has nearly 150 employees and more than 20 vacancies are currently open. 90 workers will be present on the Lempdes industrial site, reinforcing the local presence and GCK’s commitment to the regional economy.
Creating “Flex’hy” to foster the creation of hydrogen ecosystems
Eric Boudot, CEO of GCK, took the opportunity of this event to announce the creation of Flex’hy, a new company devoted to hydrogen distribution. Flex’hy’s ambition is to foster the distribution of hydrogen anywhere and anytime in a flexible way, thus favouring the development of hydrogen ecosystems through gas stations or mobile solutions, with or without on-board hydrogen production.
Thanks to its mobile solutions requiring only a low level of development and civil engineering, Flex’hy intends to support private and public users with limited initial hydrogen consumption and then respond to their progressive increase in requirements.
To carry out this project, GCK has teamed up with AmInvest, Amaury Mulliez’ investment company in the energies and mobilities of the future, which is already present in these fields via, for instance, projects such as Energy Observer, Eodev, Hynova, Sunrhyse, Azfalte and Hy Génération.
With Flex’hy, GCK has thus acquired a new skill and strengthened its position as a major player in hydrogen mobility, just a few weeks after presenting its first retrofitted coaches. This announcement reinforces its 360-degree strategic positioning, offering a wide range of technological solutions to accelerate the decarbonization of transport.
Roland Lescure, Minister for Industry, said: “I salute GCK’s industrial project, which meets all of the State’s priorities for creating the industry of 2030: low-carbon, innovative, and job-creating in all of our territories. Through its electric and hydrogen retrofit activities, GCK is fully committed to the decarbonization of our mobility and will be supported within the framework of France 2030.”
Éric Boudot, GCK’s Managing Director, said: “Today’s inauguration of our Lempdes site is a major step for the group. This modern and efficient industrial tool is a success for all our teams, which I congratulate. By bringing together our flagship battery production and retrofit activities in one location, we are continuing to accelerate our development. I am also very pleased to announce the launch of Flex’hy, which completes our range of technological solutions by allowing hydrogen to be distributed anywhere, anytime.
Amaury Mulliez, Director of AMINVEST said: “I am very happy and proud of this ambitious partnership with GCK, a group committed to the decarbonization of transport, with whom we share numerous common values, notably the desire to create a simpler and more flexible hydrogen ecosystem. Through Flex’hy, AMINVEST is pursuing a precise objective: to facilitate the use of hydrogen in all forms of mobility thanks to a simplified access to the molecule available for as many people as possible.
