GCK announces the arrival of the Shift4Good fund to accelerate its industrial development
- GCK has just completed its third and largest funding round, with Shift4Good joining as a shareholder. Shift4Good is a leading impact investment fund focused on sustainable mobility and the circular economy of mobility sectors. The historic investors and the industrial group Motul have also increased their stakes.
- This operation reinforces GCK’s move to industrial scale, with five production sites today, and enables it to pursue its R&D investments and internationalization process.
- With over 300 employees and a target of 45 million euros in turnover by 2024, GCK is pursuing its strategic development and consolidating its position as a key player in the decarbonization of transport.
Lempdes, 17 September 2024 – GCK Group, a key player in decarbonized mobility, has just concluded an interim closing of its total fundraising round of nearly 50 million euros by welcoming Shift4Good to its capital. Shift4Good is the world’s first independent environmental impact venture capital fund dedicated to sustainable mobility.
Co-founded by Matthieu de Chanville, Sébastien Guillaud, Yann Marteil, and Thierry de Panafieu, four French investors with expertise in venture capital and mobility, Shift4Good is an independent French asset management company, approved by the AMF, with offices in Paris and Singapore.
GCK thus strengthens its shareholder base and secures the continuation of its development:
- Industrialization phase of its production, with now five production sites, including the one located in Cournon d’Auvergne dedicated to retrofitting heavy vehicles through its subsidiary GCK Mobility, which announced at the beginning of the year an order for 50 retrofitted coaches for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.
- Development in R&D to offer its clients technological excellence in the fields of engines, batteries, and retrofitting.
- Acceleration of GCK’s internationalization process, following the announcement made at the 24 Hours of Le Mans to produce hydrogen combustion engines for the American market, with the signing of a partnership between Solution F and Saleen Automotive to supply a new dual-fuel hydrogen engine that will equip the future road supercar of the American manufacturer.
With a turnover target of 45 million euros in 2024 and over 300 employees, GCK strengthens its leadership position in the markets for developing and manufacturing innovative technologies for vehicle transformation and in green energy storage and supply.
