Circuit de Charade: a laboratory for new mobility technologies

In 2021, GCK took over management of the Charade racetrack, the last mountain track in France and an iconic place for motor racing. While we are committed to reviving the legend of the circuit, our objective today is to become the leading laboratory for tomorrow’s mobility.

The legend of the track

Inaugurated in 1958, Charade has played a part in the F1 legend and has been the scene of some of the finest motorbike duels.

This legendary racetrack has seen some of the world’s greatest drivers battle against one another on an initial layout of 8.055 km, which was shortened to 3.975 km in 1989 for safety reasons:

4 F1 Grands Prix from 1965 to 1972
Motorbike Grand Prix from 1959 to 1974
Legendary drivers (Sir Jackie Stewart, etc.)

Between technicality and nature

The Charade racetrack offers an exceptional setting in a verdant landscape. Its 3.975 km track boasts unique features, as well as off-road zones ideal for testing and training.

Clean mobility laboratory

  • Electric and hydrogen recharging infrastructure: 350/700 bar H2 station, fast electric recharging stations of up to 240kW, etc.
  • Future Technopôle of Charade: creation of a technical platform for research and development and a training center for new technologies.

Events all year round!

Car racing, events, driving schools, seminars, leisure activities: Charade today offers a wide range of traditional motorsport activities.

In 2022, the Charade Super Show was launched to pay tribute to the track’s legend. An event that attracts thousands of visitors every year!
